170 Days Later: Him Parbat Hydropower IPO Approved for Rs 591.5M Public Issue

The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has cleared the way for Him Parbat Hydropower Limited to offer ordinary shares to the public. This approval follows the 170 days long period after previous IPO of Everest Colour was approved. The board's directors approved the issuance of 5.915 million shares, valued at Rs 591.5 million, during a meeting held on October 2. Citizens Capital Limited has been appointed to manage the sale and distribution of the shares.

Him Parbat Hydropower submitted its application for public share issuance on November 20, 2024, waiting approximately 170 days for final regulatory approval. The company satisfied key requirements for the listing, having already completed construction and begun commercial electricity generation in mid 2025 across two projects: the 5.5 megawatt Sagu Khola-1 and the 20 megawatt Sagu Khola projects. Additionally, the company met standard financial criteria by maintaining a net worth above Rs 100 per share.

This decision marks the first public share approval granted by the board since April, 2026, when Everest Color received clearance. While SEBON Chairman Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatta had recently indicated that multiple companies might receive approval before Ashwin 15, however today is already Ashwin 20 and only one companies has been approved.
