Nepse Index closes positively with 3.60 points gain; Turnover above Rs 84.96 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has closed with 3.60 points gain (or 0.24%) to close at 1,523.26 points. Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1,520.74 points and the local bourse was seen fluctuating throughout the day. However, on the first trading hour of the day, the market increased by 10 points, after which selling pressure was seen. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 84.96 crore where more than 17.28 lakh units shares were traded through 7,844 transactions. Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 10.28 crore) while the Promoter shares of Kumari Bank Limited Promoter Shares (KBLPO) were traded the most (2.29 lakh units) today. The best performer of the day was Excel Development Bank Limited (EDBL) hitting 10% positive circuit break while Chhyangdi Hydropower Limited (CHL) was the biggest loser today. EDBL gained significant points after it announced 30.12% bonus share. Sensitive and float index slightly went up by 0.44 points and 0.3 points respectively. Except Banking, Finance & Others, all sectors at NEPSE landed in green. Sub-indices of insurance surged the most by 81.25 points.
