Nepal Investors  Forum issues ultimatum to government and related authorities; Fulfill 19 demands in 7 days or face strike, says Forum

Nepal Investors Forum has taken a major jibe at the government accusing the later of deliberately shutting down its eyes and ears towards the recent plights of investors due to continuous free-fall in the only share market. Issuing the press statement, the forum of investors, one among many such associations, has issued warning to the government to fulfill its list of demands within 7 days or to face its strike from the 8th day. The issued press statement has accused the government of putting the interest of more than 15 lakh investors in jeopardy. The new left government has achieved historical success in wiping out more than Rs 800 arba assets of the investors, reads the statement. Pointing that the share market holds investment from people who invest few thousands rupees to those who have invested crores and even arabs, the forum of the investors expressed its frustration that the government has showed its back towards the share market which the forum has termed as the mirror of the economy. Outlining some 19 demands, the forum has warned the government with seemingly threatening language that it would begin necessary strikes if the demands are not met even though the structure and modality of the declared strike is not clear. The forum of the investors wants the government and related authorities to .Begin online trading of shares within stipulated time .Provide broker licences to commercial banks and expand the network of the existing brokers .Decrease the charges and taxes currently levied in the share transaction .Provide upto 70% credit facility with the stocks as mortgage .Arrange to list bonus and right shares within 7 days of being endorsed by AGM and allotted respectively .Revise transaction clarance time to 24 hours from the existing 3 days Find more about full list of demands
