See the status of number of BFIs in Nepal till the end of Ashad 2074

As per the directives by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), to meet the capital requirement for the Bank and Financial Institutions (BFIs) till the end of FY 2073/74 has compelled most of the BFIs to go into mergers and acquisitions. Huge numbers of BFIs running in Nepal has significantly declined due to mergers and acquisitions with other BFIs making strong fundamentals and collaboration with other also helps to make the wide company web. At present, investors and interested citizens are curious to know how many BFIs specially A, B, C and D class BFIs are there in Nepal. Thus, it is time for us to clarify the curiosity of all. Till the end of Ashad 2074, number of BFIs in Nepal are as follows:

1. Commercial banks – 28
2. Development banks – 40
3. Finances – 28
4. Microfinances – 53 (including unlisted shares in NEPSE)
