Nepse Index plunges by 20.82 points to close at 1555.16 levels; Turnover above Rs 64.98 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has dropped by 20.82 points or 1.32% to close at 1555.16 points today. Nepse Index opened at 1575.99 points and local bourse was seen fluctuating during the first trading hour afterward it was seen in downward trend. 51,985 units shares of Everest Insurance Company Limited (EIC) and 37,000 unit shares of Siddhartha investment growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1) were traded the most today. The best performer for the day was Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited (TRH) whereas, Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference Shares (EBLCP) and Mithila Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (MLBBL) were the biggest losers today. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 64.98 crore in which more than 8.14 lakh units shares were traded through 5,812 transactions. Sensitive and float index went down by 4.29 and 1.64 points respectively. All the sub-indices landed in red zone today.  Insurance sub-group witnessed the biggest drop of 142.89 points.
